Puppenmuseum900 antique dolls are shown in the 33 rooms of the museum, mainly from classical regions of origin, which also includes the Coburg region and South Thuringia.

The dolls and around 50 doll houses, doll prams, antique toys as well as miniature porcelain figures date back to the time between 1800 and 1956.

The great skill with textiles in the 19th century is shown in many examples of outstanding doll clothing.
A highlight is the collection of so-called tea dolls (half-dolls/Cachottiere), with 350 items that are unique in quantity and quality.

The items being exhibited are arranged chronologically and they are also combined in such a way that they make scenes of the living and working world of these fifty years that almost look real.
This is the former home of the orientalist and poet Friedrich Rückert (1820-1826).
