Modernes GlasEuropean Museum of Modern Glass - Rosenau Park
The creation of the new glass museum is primarily attributed to the Coburg businessman and patron Otto Waldrich. The foundation started by him financed the new building, supported by numerous donors, which was erected in Rosenau Park across from the Orangery with the approval of the Bavarian Castle Administration. After just one year of construction under the direction of Coburg architect Albert Wagner, the museum has now been furnished with art collections from Coburg Fortress and was ceremoniously opened on October 11, 2008.

Modernes GlasThis drawn-out building has 1200 m2 of exhibition space. In the permanent exhibition on the ground floor, visitors can re-experience the history of studio glass from the 1960s until now. A glass stairway leads to the upper floor to the special exhibition room and to the lamp lens studio as a special attraction. Moreover, visitors can find out more about glass and its processing in the gallery with vividly prepared information.
There is a regular tour every 3rd Sunday in the month at 2:30pm.
